Colombia: Heritage, Coffee, and Travel Guide
The 1002 English Tourism class carried out the activity titled “Colombia: Heritage, Coffee, and Travel Guide,” which offered an in-depth look at the country’s rich tourism and coffee culture, with a particular focus on the departments of Antioquia and Quindío.
Under the guidance of teacher Jeimmy Primiciero Espinosa, who structured the scripts and coordinated the dynamics of the presentation, students delivered informative presentations on emblematic destinations such as Medellín, Guatapé, Salento, and the Cocora Valley. They also highlighted the figure of Juan Valdez as a symbol of the 540,000 coffee-growing families.
The gastronomic showcase emphasized the versatility of coffee through the presentation of products such as tinto campesino, arepas paisas, coffee jam, coffee flan, coffee cupcakes, and coffee jelly.
Additionally, the project included representations of regional identity through traditional dances and references to the Feria de las Flores. These elements, together with technical information about Arabica coffee cultivation and manual harvesting, celebrated the agricultural and cultural heritage of these Colombian regions.
